Hello everyone! We’re checking in from Playa Samara, the most amazing beach in Costa Rica, if not the world. We all arrived safely last night. Since we’ve been here, we’ve surfed, taken a salsa lesson, and gotten to know each other during our group orientation. Let’s just say: we’re having a blast!
The people of La Trinchera are anxiously awaiting our arrival tomorrow and have planned an amazing bienvenida party to welcome us to the village. In the coming days, we’ll paint a school and community center, and also work on a small construction project. For those of you who, like many of our students, are curious about the paint colors we’ll be using, Sergio said that one is a shade of green and the other is “somewhere between white and brown”…what does that even mean?! Maybe tan? Off-white? Beige? Stay tuned: details and photos to come!
We won’t have regular internet access while we’re in La Trinchera, and we hope to post another update soon. Until then, no news is GOOD NEWS.
¡Pura vida!
